"Hot Trip" to Venice - a short travel to the Venice Biennale (summer'03)
the Biennale was reason enough for us to travel to Venice. Mobility represents
a special challenge on this island, with all its narrow lanes, cute bridges and
irritated tourists.

Especially with these extreme weather conditions that we were facing (it was the
hottest summer for ages with teperatures over +40°C and a humidity that was
not funny any more!) it may be close to impossible to take the shortest or 'correct'
route - if there is any.
In Venice there is actually no "shortest" way - instead theres an incredible
amount of opportunities, and every narrow lane may lead you to your destination
- or to something completely different. And even the "bus" (without
wheels) or the "taxi" (without wheels) are no real alternatives to this
labyrinth.
At least Vnice is an experience you shouldn't miss. When you finally arrive where
you actually wanted to go yesterday, but you couldn't, because you were running
around in circles. without knowing, how you got there, then you might experience
this deep feeling of relaxation and relief. An experience, that might even help
you in your everyday life.
This is why in the Venice-Album most of the pictures show narrow lanes. That's
basically 90% of "the View" you get of Venice.
And then there's of cause also the tourist attractions. Or lets rather say: the
churches, palasts, bridges and sites that attract tourists so much, that every
tourist just has to take a pictures of it. For your viewing-pleasure, I took some
pictures of tourists, taking pictures of some typical tourist attractions. So
you'll already know what it looks like when you're taking a picture of this or
that bridge / canal / gondola / palast etc..
And if you happen to have already taken pictures of this or that, then please
feel free to let me know...

Nice View: a picture of the Canale Grande - as it is obligatory for every photo
album. Sometimes you just have to wait a bit for the perfect shot like for example
a wedding couple passing by in a gondola..

A picture of the "Bridge of Sighs" is a must - not only for casanova-lovers
(especially if there's a gondola passing by!).

Take a self portrait of you and your beloved ones! Venice offers a great variety
of nice (romantic, gothic, ...) backgrounds (e.g. the Basilica San Marco). You
just need to point your camera at yourselves, tilt it a bit (so you don't get
a picture full of other tourists) and voilà: nice picture!

Action! Danger! Suspence! Just buy a bag of bird food, disperse it all over your
darling and a funny picture is guaranteed. Very popular picture shot on Piazza
San Marco
