lasipalatsi means in english -glaspalast-
this very nice building contains various cafes, a cinema, the studios of a finnish
tv-station, a very good bookstore, exebition facilities and other things.
to the right of it (not the dark building) you can see the parliament, the kiasma
museum of contemporary art with a monument of the finnish war-hero mannerheim,
the main post office, the street to the main railway station,the department store
sokos (which happens to be also a palyndrom) and the street mannerheimintie (named
after the finnish war-hero mannerheim). |
