Arabia is the part of Helsinki...
...where the university for arts and design UIAH (TAIK) is located.
There is nothing much more to see in Arabia - but maybe that is just fine. So studying
works out quite fine there.
Next to some old wooden houses the old araria-factory is located, which
hosts some design-offices, show-rooms and a shop, some parts left behind by the arabia company.
Almost all the rest of that building is taken over by the UIAH (TAIK).
Close to UIAH a new living arae is built, a Nu-Media-City. Thit is what i was told. And sooner or later probably all of arabia-city
will be taken over by young dynamic creativ progressive Photographers, Designers and Movie-Makers. At least this seems to be the master plan of
the City of Helsinki.
