Ruka - downtown of a ski resort
this is one of the starting points if you want to go down hill skiing in Finland.
About 28 slopes offer a vaierty of degrees of difficulty, from the easy cheesy billy hill
to the ultimete death slope - something for everybody. And the skiing season is incredible long up here:
usually you can expect rather good skiing conditions from October until May - although the snow might
not be in its best condition in spring any more..
The only problem that might occur is that it might be a little
dark - but that's obviously no problem nowadays.
And yes: there is of cause also some attractive after ski activties.. `.´ ..and sauna.
