it's decided that the Airport Tempelhof is closed in 2008 - that means no more air traffic will take place at this airport - the airport will not be an airport any more.

For the future the City of Berlin is looking for investors that are willing to run the airport building without running the actual airport - a difficult if not impossible project, since on the one hand it's one of the largest buildings in the world - and on the other hand the building is protected as a historic monument.
