Nam June Paik died on January 29th 2006 in his appartment in Miami, Florida at the age of 73.

Five years before, in 2001 various works of Nam June Paik were shown in Berlin's old city center at Nikolai Church in the exhibition "ArtAvantime". And I took the opportunity to take some pictures.

The korean / american Nam June Paik is often refered to as the father of video art / godfather of media art. Beeing a musician, composer and artists with an interested in media and electronics he was one of the first - if not the first to use TV sets and video clips in his art works.

From 1979 on Nam June Paik was professor at the art academy Düsseldorf - the same time and space where also four young men were forming the band Kraftwerk.
