This album consists of pictures I took in the north of Finland (pretty close to Lapland) walking in some kind of winter wonder land around Rukatunturi - between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

The Tunturi at Ruka is well known for the ski resort (a.k.a. Kuusamo Ski Resort, named after the next town Kuusamo), where annually the top free style snow boarders meet to show off their skills.

It is basically a hill  or actually a group of hills, remains of the ice age. Due to its geographical location it is a ski resort with with guaranteed snow during the winter - which can endure for quite a while due to the lack of sun shine during the winter months.
