Also during the winter time Finland can be very beautiful. The pictures of this album I took in winter '99/'00 in Helsinki, where I studied at the University of Art and Design UIAH/TAIK. I was told, that this was a quite mild winter and that it was actually not as much snow, as usually...

... but it was enough for me (see also:: lost highway).
Especially driving a car was a quite interesting task for me. Finnish people know how to do that:: on the one hand, they (almost) all have spikes on their tires to stay on the icy and snowy roads. On the other hand I heard that people learn how to drive on frozen lakes during the winter - that is at least what reliable sources told me.
