up north we went - again - for christmas. This time, we didn't take the car, but the train. The journey started in Helsinki around noon, then it only took about 8-9-10 hours and we were almost there. Of course I just couldn't take pictures all the time - but here are at least some pictures of what we could see from the train's window as long as it was still 'bright' outside...

Yes, it might look dangerous. But not only the people of the finnish rail company VR know quite well how to get through the finnish winter - by train `.´ and bus - to Kuusamo (lalalalala-Kuusamo...)
Only afterwards we heard that there were also flights going from Helsinki to for only 39,- Euro. Anyways. I actually don't wanna know about this offer. The train travel was just fine for me. Yes, I do recommend it.
