Tampere - the Venice of the North?!!¿ nooo... it is just not that easy. Maybe ''the Manchester of the Venices''... or so. At least i can say that Tampere is beautiful, has lots of chimneys, two H&M stores, one ''Stockmann'', lots of students, a disco with a -happy-tuesday- (senssi) aaand... well... loads of pipes. ...

Besides that, Tampere works very well as a stand-alone application. It seems as if Tampere does not really need anything else but itself. It could be, that this phenomena has historical roots - because, as you may have guessed by the density of chimneys/pipes, Tampere has always been an industrial Town - with its very own businesses.

This also applies somehow for the night-life of Tampere. I heard, that some bands from Helsinki have had not such an easy job rocking the crowds of Tampere.
