Berlin: Mauerpark - the 'Wall-Park' in Prenzlauer Berg: balcony, catwalk and playground.
Back in the time of the Berlin Wall, the Wall used to be right here - dividing
Berlin - East and West - Wedding and Prenzlauer Berg. Today, the Mauerpark is a rather lively and sometimes even green memorial park - which is
used on various occasions: you may find some rest and relaxation here, you may
also find misc, sports, entertainment and a great playground for kids and dogs
and rock'n'roll.. :) ...
Some people pass by on their way to work, others take a nap during the lunch brake,
and others hang around all day. There is a wall (which is not The Berlin Wall)
where some people are doing great graffity art work, others swing on one of the
swings that are located next to this wall - other are flying kites or even parashutes
down the hill.
There is even more entertainment going on in Mauerpark: Soccer, playing frisbees,
throwing sticks and sometimes even bottles and stones seem to be also somehow
popular sport.
I actually use to go to the Mauerpark to look at the TV-Tower and watch planes
passing by (taking off or landing in Tegel) - to get my eyes some rest from staring
at the screen for too long. And sometimes I go there in the evenings - to eat
sausages and drink beer :)
